Mission statement

The Society was founded in 1978 http://binomo-co.in/code with the aim of bringing together all those interested
in carnivorous plants, both beginners and experts.
Membership is open to all individuals and institutions, both amateur and professional.
Regular meetings are held around the country and include visits to private and public collections.
The Meetings allow members to meet and sell or swap plants.
The Society exhibits at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where it has won several GOLD medals.

The Society also has an award-winning stand in the BBC Gardeners World Live Show
at NEC Birmingham. The plants are all grown and exhibited by the Society's members.

The Society operates a very extensive Seed Bank, which is FREE to members.
This allows them to obtain rare and valuable seed easily.
Each member is allocated FOUR FREE packets of seed per year,
with an option to buy a further 2 packets for 50 pence each. ( see the seed bank page for rules )

A coloured Journal is published annually containing articles,
letters, illustrations and photographs sent in by members.
These deal with all aspects of CARNIVOROUS PLANTS.
Topics covered include cultivation, latest scientific research, travel,
wild plants and their conservation etc.

FOUR newsletters (The CPS News) are produced each year containing articles,
up to date information on meetings and society business plus
member's requests and adverts for plants and contacts.
The newsletter also contains the latest seed bank list.

The Carnivorous Plant Society has a Conservation Fund with a Conservation Officer on the Committee.
Promotions and T-shirts are for sale.

The Society has a Library for members to use, with both old and new publications.

All new subscribers receive an welcome pack with any current newsletter(s)
and journal to that membership year.

Your Membership No. will be printed on the envelope sent.
Where appropriate, material is sent by airmail.
